Right now I'm checking out a deliciously nasty track by Austin's Hard Proof Afrobeat band. It's really exciting-- especially since we're going to be sharing the bill with them every single Thursday in June at One2One. Needless to say, we're very excited about sharing a residency with this fantastic band, and if you're not excited enough yet, cruise over to Hard Proof's website and have yourself a listen, then imagine that coming from a live band on a great stage through a killing sound system.
It'll be a great way to dive into the summer after a particularly inspiring spring, during which we got to share billing with great bands like the Funky Knuckles and Foe Destroyer. We got an extra double-dose of inspiration last week when our brothers Snarky Puppy cruised through town with the aforementioned Knuckles. To top it off, we've been honored to have so much support from the Austin music community for our album, Beatmaker, our Thursday shows at One2One, and our "Progress Presents" nights. The D'angelo and Michael Jackson nights went great, and we're craftily plotting the next one to delight your eardrums.
We'll be playing new music all this month, every Thursday at One2One on south Lamar, and we'll also be releasing a couple more videos within the next couple months, so subscribe to our Youtube channel if you want the latest junk we got.
And if you haven't checked out our record yet, please give it a listen! It's streaming on our Bandcamp page. See you out there.

Progress Presents the Music of Michael Jackson, 4/25
Just a quick update this week. But it's a pretty important one... because... Thursday is gonna be, um, "off the wall." GET IT?
Because it's "Progress Presents the music of Michael Jackson" at One2One! (Now you get it.)
We're getting Yellowdogvideo to shoot some footage, so wear your shiniest silver glove and get your pretty young self out to 1509 South Lamar.
"Progress Presents" is a monthly (or bi-monthly) showcase that we started in February where we take a break from playing our own fusion odysseys and instead bring some of our favorite soul singers in Texas onstage to join us in performing songs by our heroes. Our first show was D'Angelo music (and... honestly... we might have to hit those jams again at some point because they're just that good). This month it's the king of pop, and we got some serious vocalists that are gonna knock it out of the park. We'll also have a phenomenal guest keyboardist and good vibes all around. We hit at 9:00pm on Thursday, April 25. Come join us!

Feeling grateful for the love
The last few months have been absolutely awesome for us. In addition to mixing, mastering, releasing, and selling out of the first order of our debut album, Beatmaker, we've had the opportunity to share the bill with some phenomenal bands and had some really killer guests join us on stage (Jay Jennings of Snarky Puppy... and Toby Keith's band... and Taron Lockett of Erykah Badu's band). We've been able to rock a couple new videos for your Youtubing pleasure thanks to Gary Feist, and you can see them all on our Youtube channel.
So, heading into the spring and summer, we're writing and shedding a bunch of new music, continuing to play at One2One (on South Lamar in Austin, TX) every Thursday (with a couple exceptions), and looking heavily into branching out to other regions. Look for us in Houston, San Antonio, New Orleans, and everywhere in between in the near future, and of course we're going to get back up to our ancestral stomping grounds of Dallas and Denton.
Thanks so much to everyone for supporting us. The love we've felt from the new album has been immense, and we've been honored to be getting feedback from across the country and even from Europe. If you're excited about what you hear, don't think twice about sharing us with whoever you think will be into it. For realsies.
If you're in Austin, come to One2One this Thursday! And look out for another special "Progress Presents..." event at the end of the month, featuring more of our favorite singers in Austin.
